About Us: The Timber Tough Story

Welcome to Timber Tough, where innovation meets adventure. Our mission is to transform your ute experience, combining functionality with easy installation, ensuring every journey is enhanced. Born from a blend of necessity and expertise, we're not just manufacturers; we're creators of bespoke cargo solutions that promise unmatched value.

Our journey began with Paul and his son Josh, a duo bonded by a shared passion for the Australian outdoors and the utility of their utes. It all started with a new Next Gen Ford Ranger and a chaotic trip down the New South Wales South Coast, which left their gear in disarray. Faced with a lack of suitable cargo solutions, they were inspired to create their own.

With backgrounds in cabinetry and CNC machining, they quickly moved from concept to prototype, developing a design that not only solved their problem but also resonated with fellow ute owners. What began as a personal project turned into Timber Tough, a vision now expanding to offer innovative solutions for models like the Toyota Hilux, Isuzu Dmax, and Mitsubishi Triton. - Watch this space!

Timber Tough is for the adventurers, the workers, and every ute owner in between. We understand your needs because we've been there, turning our "aha!" moment into a range of products that bring both quality and practicality to your vehicle.

From our family to yours, we invite you to join our community of enthusiasts. Follow our story and product releases on social media. At Timber Tough, we're dedicated to exploring the endless possibilities of the Australian landscape, one ute at a time, with you by our side.

Why we use Plywood in our products?

Easy to work with, readily available and a store of carbon. But this isn't the reason we chose to work with plywood. Plywood has unique benefits over plastic or metal:

  1. Shock Absorption: Plywood's layered structure not only effectively absorbs impacts, protecting cargo against bumps and vibrations better than plastic or metal, but it also acts as a buffer, taking the brunt of the impact instead of the tub/tray it sits within. This helps to prevent damage to the vehicle itself, making it ideal for ute cargo solutions.

  2. Ease of Customisation: Plywood allows customers to easily make their own modifications to fit their specific needs. Its workability means it can be cut, drilled, or shaped with standard tools, offering a DIY-friendly option for personalising the divider's fit and functionality.

  3. Durability: Plywood resists cracking, warping, and wear better than plastics and is less prone to corrosion or denting than metals, ensuring a longer-lasting divider that withstands harsh conditions.

With its ability to absorb shocks, be easily customised, and remain durable under various conditions, plywood is the superior choice for a ute tub divider, providing both protection and flexibility.
